BeHave Residency, Belval Luxembourg.  November 2015 – May 2016

Neville Gabie has recently been selected as one of nine International artists to develop a new work during a four month residency in Luxembourg. Belval is a former steel blast-furnace complex, the structures of which have been preserved and restored. Currently the whole area is being redeveloped as the University of Luxembourg. Neville will begin his residency in late November 2015 and complete it by May2016.

Breaking Ground – FINALPress Release

Breaking Ground is a site specific project funded by ACE and supported by the National Football Museum, Manchester. Initiated by Neville Gabie and archaeologist Jason Wood, and working with artists Alan Ward, Louise O’Reilly, Giorgio Garippa, and Oliver Palmer, archaeologist Rob Nichols, historian David Pendleton and the Geophysics Department at Bradford University, the team will spend one week uncovering the history of this once significant football club and ground. Designed by Archibald Leitch, the ground was abandoned in the early 1970’s.

The site will be open to the public during the week of 6th – 12th September and the resulting work will be exhibited at the National Football Museum, Manchester at a date yet to be announced. For a full project proposal please see the PDF.
