Cambridge Rules 1848 –
a new commission by Neville Gabie and Alan Ward
Neville Gabie and Alan Ward have been commissioned by Cambridge City Council to create a significant new artwork celebrating Cambridge’s special contribution to the creation of the football rules. Said to be the first written rules for football as it is played today, they were specifically written for university students playing on Parker’s Piece in Cambridge.
The commission is due to be completed by the end of 2017
